8-year-old killed in three-car crash on Interstate 20 in Grand Prairie, police say
An 8-year-old child is dead after a Saturday morning three-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 near Belt Line Road in Grand Prairie, according to a news release from police.
Three vehicles failed to slow down and hit slower traffic around 9:10 a.m. Saturday, crashing into the vehicles in front of them, police said. Two SUVs and one passenger car crashed into slower traffic, sending three people, including the 8-year-old, to the hospital.
Police said the drivers of the SUVs sustained minor injuries and were treated at the hospital, but the 8-year-old died at the hospital from his or her injuries. The driver of the passenger car was treated at the scene.
Police did not release any information about what injuries the child received. The name of the child will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said no charges are expected to be filed related to the accident.
