The Cowtown to hold Blast from the Past virtual run and distance training program
During these times of social distancing, The Cowtown is offering virtual runs and training programs for individual athletes to complete on their own.
Cowtown Trailblazers has designed a multitude of ways for individuals to stay active while being safe.
Anyone can run any half, full or ultra distance for any year from 2009 through 2020. They have until Oct. 18 to complete their virtual race and earn the missing medal from a past series. The price for the virtual run is $60. There is special pricing if you want to complete a past series in its entirety (three runs) for $150.
Registration for The Cowtown Blast from the Past Virtual Run is now open. Upon registration for the Blast from the Past virtual run, a bib will be sent in the mail with instructions.
Once runners complete the chosen distance, the medal from that year and a finisher shirt will be mailed. Runners have can print a finisher certificate and receive a $10 off coupon to be used when registering for the 2021 Cowtown.
The Cowtown will also have a virtual distance training program, which starts on June 1.
The 20-week program is built specifically for the half, full or ultra distance athlete. The program includes detailed weekly schedules, coaching emails, a private Facebook group, Facebook Live speakers on nutrition, injury prevention, a Cowtown training shirt and Live coach sessions.
There is a Facebook LIVE Interest Meeting about the training program being held on May 26 at 7:30 pm.
