3 children, 4 others rescued from lake after boat overturns in Fort Worth

Seven people, including three children, were rescued from a Fort Worth reservoir after their boat overturned Tuesday afternoon.

Someone called 911 at about 6:22 p.m. and told dispatchers that multiple people were in the water at Marine Creek Reservoir, firefighter Mike Drivdahl said.

Everyone was pulled out of the water by firefighters by 6:55 p.m and no one appeared to be hurt.

The caller told emergency crews everyone in the overturned boat was wearing a life vest, Drivdahl said.

“We strongly urge anybody if they’re out on the lake to have life vests on,” Drivdahl said. “It’s really important.”
