Something fishy going on in the Trinity River
Something fishy is going to be happening in the Trinity River over the next few weeks.
On Thursday, the Tarrant Regional Water District will host the first of six trout stockings in the Trinity River. About 2,100 trout will be released into the river at Trinity Park and River Park at about 8:30 a.m.
This is the 31st year that the water district and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has been involved in the stocking program, which attracts thousands of fishermen each winter.
The other trout releases will be:
Jan. 3 — Trinity Park
Jan. 4 — River Park
Feb. 7 — Trinity Park
Feb. 9 — River Park
March 10 — River Park, which will be done at the same time as the water district’s annual flyfest, which last year included fishing contests, fly tying and casting lessons.
