Girl’s best friend
There were plenty of smiling faces — both humans and dogs — during a special adoption event Saturday at the Grapevine Petco.
Trinity High School’s Girls Awareness Program sponsored the special adoption day to support the Euless Animal Shelter.
The all-girls organization — called GAP — has a variety of events and fundraisers throughout the year to support the shelter. The girls also volunteer at the shelter, grooming and caring for the pets.
“We adopted three dogs at our adoption event at Petco and received around $75 in donations and merchandise sales,” said Steffenie Vela, the founder and sponsor of GAP. “We also have two more people considering dogs they met, so we are hopeful that we may get another adoption or two.”
