1. When will it open?

Construction will start in late 2017 and the Rangers’ first season in the new ballpark will be 2021.

2. Where’s it going to be?

A block south where lots A and B now stand — and next to the yet-to-be built Texas Live!

3. How big is it?

It’s early but the Rangers are saying it will likely be smaller than Globe Life Park with a capacity somewhere between 42,000 and 44,000.

4. What’s next?

The Arlington City Council will vote on a master agreement for a public-private partnership with the Texas Rangers at its May 24 meeting, Mayor Jeff Williams said. Once approved, the council will call an election for Nov. 8. Voters will be asked to approve spending money raised through a half-cent sales tax, a 2 percent hotel occupancy tax and a 5 percent car rental tax.

5. What if voters say no?

It’s back to the drawing board. But voters approved using tax dollars to help pay for Globe Life Park and AT&T Stadium.

6. How much will it cost?

About $1 billion with a 50-50 split between the Rangers and Arlington. The city’s commitment is capped at $500 million.

7. Why do we need a new stadium?

Times change. The heat is one issue but Globe Life Park also has outdated technology.

8. What happens to Globe Life Park?

That’s unclear. It could be needed for parking but some parts of the stadium could be saved for offices, park space or an extension of Texas Live!

9. What’s the roof like?

Owner Ray Davis expects the roof to be closed during most of July and August, but it will be open during the spring and fall.
