Police are investigating a Saturday morning crash on an Interstate 30 frontage road that left a 34-year-old passenger dead.

Michelle Johnson of Arlington died after the car she rode in was hit by a pickup at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Arlington police wrote in a news release.

Johnson died at the Medical Center of Arlington at 4:50 p.m. Saturday from blunt-force trauma of the head and chest, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

The accident happened in the 500 block of westbound I-30 that morning as a pickup traveling westbound struck the car Johnson was in as the vehicles approached the Center Street intersection, according to the release.

The car was directly in front of the pickup at the the time, and its driver was taken to a local hospital along with Johsnon, according to police.

Accident investigations were still trying to determine the cause of the cash Monday night.
