Police: Arlington woman was drunk when she drove over 10-year-old
An Arlington woman is accused of drunkenly driving over a 10-year-old boy, who suffered serious injuries, police said.
Annaliza Leal, 43, remained in jail Monday with bail set at $2,000.
The boy was “struck and knocked to the ground and dragged under the car,” said Sgt. VaNessa Harrison, a police spokeswoman.
The boy was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, where his condition has improved.
Leal was driving south in the 2600 block of Ozark Drive about 8:30 p.m. when the boy ran into the street, Harrison said.
Leal left the scene, but returned after being confronted by a neighbor, Harrison said.
Tarrant County district clerk records list Leal’s address in the 900 block of Warrington Court, about two blocks from the scene of the accident.
