Police: Arlington Bowie student killed himself at elementary school
An Arlington teenager hanged himself on a soccer goal outside an elementary school Saturday morning, police said.
Willie Lewis, 16, died at 7:45 a.m., according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
Organizers of a community event at Foster Elementary School found Lewis hanging on the goal, said Sgt. VaNessa Harrison, a police spokeswoman.
Investigators determined it was “totally conclusive” that Lewis killed himself, Harrison said. The medical examiner’s office has not made an official ruling on his cause of death.
Lewis was a sophomore at Arlington Bowie High School, district spokeswoman Leslie Johnston said. Counselors were available to students Monday.
