A 37-year-old Arlington man was fatally injured Tuesday night when he and another man got into a fight, police reported.

Danny Pitts of Arlington was pronounced dead at 9:13 a.m. Wednesday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Charles Hunter Gann, 21, was arrested Wednesday at his Arlington home. He was arrested first on unrelated misdemeanor warrants. Detectives later added a suspicion of murder complaint, police spokeswoman VaNessa Harrison said in an email.

Gann remained in Arlington City Jail Thursday night with bail set at $250,298.10 — $250,000 on the murder complaint and $298.10 for a Fort Worth speeding ticket.

Police were called about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 700 block of Taft Drive. Officers found Pitts unresponsive. The cause and manner of death were not reported Thursday night.

Witnesses told police that Pitts and the man he fought with were “known acquaintances.”

Gann’s booking photo was not available Thursday.
