Runaway bull leads police on slow-speed chase in Arlington
A bull with a serious case of wanderlust led police on a slow-speed chase through the streets of southwest Arlington on Monday.
Residents were amazed and bemused by the sight of the bull trotting along residential streets, near Little Road and Arkansas Lane, occasionally stopping to eat some grass.
“Um, there is a bull on Little Road,” one caller told an Arlington police dispatcher Monday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. To which the dispatcher responded: “There’s a what out on Little Road?”
Police responded and ended up tailing the bull for almost four hours, in a slow-speed chase that had residents posting comments and videos on Facebook about their “only in Texas” moment.
Officers said the bull never acted aggressively, and they warned traffic and pedestrians as it roamed the streets. Eventually a rancher on horseback ended up helping police wrangle the bull and return it to its owner.
Oh, the stories that bull will tell.
