An Arlington motorcyclist was killed Friday evening in a Grand Prairie wreck.

An Arlington man died in Grand Prairie on Friday after being ejected from his motorcycle when he struck the car in front of him, police said.

Authorities identified the victim as Dewayne C. McCraney, 44, who died at the scene.

At about 9 p.m. Friday, McCraney was westbound on his 2004 Harley Davidson in the 2400 block of West Pioneer Parkway when he struck a slower-moving vehicle in front of him.

McCraney was thrown off his motorcycle and hit a highway sign, Grand Prairie police said in a news release.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

Police are still investigating the incident but believe speed to have been a factor, the news release said.

It was the 11th traffic fatality in the city this year.
