Arlington police release video of wanted jewelry thief

Police are searching for a man who broke into a jewelry store last month through a ceiling air duct, stealing several thousand dollars worth of custom-made jewelry.

The break-in occurred around 11 p.m. March 30 in the 1700 block of S. Watson Road.

Police say the burglar climbed onto the roof of the business and entered through the air-conditioning unit and ceiling air duct.

“Once inside the location, the suspect took a large amount of custom-made jewelry,” police said in a news release. “Many of the pieces of jewelry are easily recognizable due to their unique design.”

On Friday, police released surveillance camera video and images of the thief.

He is described as white or Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and investigators believe he was driving a white Ford Ranger pickup, possibly a 2005 or earlier model.

Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call Detective T. Taylor at 817-459-5807 or Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477). Callers to Crime Stoppers may remain anonymous and are eligible for reward money if their tip leads to an arrest in the case.
