3 killed, infant in serious condition after Grand Prairie wreck
Three people were killed and an infant was in serious condition Thursday evening after a wreck on the George Bush Turnpike near the ramp to eastbound Interstate 20, the Department of Public Safety reported.
The accident was reported at 4:25 p.m. A Honda Accord was traveling south on the George Bush Turnpike toward I-20 when for an “undetermined reason” it left the right lane and crashed into the back of a disabled armored vehicle, DPS spokesman Sgt. Lonny Haschel wrote in an email.
Three people in the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene and an infant was taken to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas with serious injuries, he said.
The driver and passenger in the armored vehicle were not seriously injured, he said.
All southbound traffic was diverted to westbound I-20 for several hours.
