Officials identify victim in Arlington slaying
ARLINGTON A 20-year-old man found dead on Friday night in a residence has been identified as Jose Garcia of Arlington, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website on Sunday.
Garcia was pronounced dead at a home in the 1500 block of Raines Street. He died from a gunshot wound to his chest and his death has been ruled a homicide.
Police also discovered a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound at the scene. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that officials did not believe were life threatening.
Patrol officers responded to a shooting about 9:40 p.m. Friday on Raines Street.
When they arrived, officers found Garcia and the teen, police said.
Detectives canvassed the neighborhood, but no arrests were made on Friday night.
Police did not provide any additional details on the shooting.
