2 slayings in 2 days in Grand Prairie, including murder-suicide
A man shot and killed a woman Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex before turning the gun on himself, a witness told Grand Prairie police.
Officerrs responded to the Terraces on the Parkway Apartments at 12:19 p.m. where they found the two people nonresponsive, Detective Lyle Gensler, police spokesman, said in a news release.
The woman was found dead at the scene, Gensler said.
The man was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting happened in the 1000 block of North Carrier Parkway. A few miles away, a man was found shot inside a car Saturday night at the Williamsburg Apartments, in the 2400 block of South Carrier Parkway.
Detectives continued to interview witnesses in that slaying, but no one had been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 972-988-8477.
The two shooting cases are not related, Gensler said.
Detectives are combing through evidence collected at the scene of the second shooting and are developing a timeline of “what the victim and suspect did in the house and moments leading up to this murder-suicide,” Gensler wrote.
Gensler said police are calling the case a murder-suicide because evidence at the scene is consistent to what multiple witnesses told police.
The victims’ identity in each case will be released by the Dallas County medical examiner once family has been notified.
