Arlington QuikTrip evacuated after person arrested, suspicious device found
A QuikTrip on East Division Street in Arlington was evacuated at about 9 p.m. Wednesday after a person was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and a suspicious device was found, officer Zhivonni McDonnell, a police spokeswoman, said.
On Thursday, Arlington police said investigators determined the device to be “a large firecracker or fireworks.”
Police made the arrest at the QuikTrip at 901 E. Division St. and found the device while taking inventory of the person’s car, McDonnell said via email.
The store was temporarily evacuated as a precaution, she said. Police did not release the identity of the person arrested.
