Driver crashes into west Arlington restaurant

A woman apparently hit the gas pedal instead of the brake while parking, slamming her car into a west Arlington restaurant’s dining room during lunch Wednesday, a fire official said.

Arlington firefighters responded to the crash just before noon at Jersey Mike’s in the 4200 block of West Green Oaks Boulevard, just north of Interstate 20. The female driver refused medical treatment, but a male customer was taken to Medical Center Arlington for treatment of minor injuries, said Lt. Lee Tovar, a Fire Department spokesman.

“Luckily, there weren’t many people inside,” Tovar said.

The driver is not facing charges, he said.
