Arlington teen says men tried to kidnap her on jog

An Arlington teenager told police two men tried to kidnap her Wednesday night while she was jogging.

The teen was in the 2500 block of Gilbert Circle about 6:15 p.m., when the men approached her in a dark blue SUV, police said. The girl said one of the men then got out of the car, told her to get inside and attempted to grab her, while displaying a knife.

The teen was able to run away to an apartment, police said. One witness told police they heard the teen screaming but did not see the suspects or their vehicle. Investigators believe the suspects continued eastbound onto Abram Street.

Police continue to look for the suspects.

The girl described the man driving the car as Hispanic, 5-foot-9, 140 pounds, and about 40 years old with short dark hair, police said.

The girl reported that the first three letters of the car’s license plate might have been “CW8.”
