Mansfield death ruled a suicide


A 69-year-old man found dead Monday morning near a Mansfield highway committed suicide, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

A man found dead Monday morning near a service road along U.S. 287 near Callender Road killed himself, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

Charles Williams, 69, died of a gunshot wound to the head. A hometown was not listed.

Williams was pronounced dead at 6:38 a.m. Monday, the medical examiner’s office reported. A motorist had called 911 about 6:30 a.m. to report seeing a body on the sidewalk.

Officers found no identification on the body.
