Inspectors found a roach infestation at this Arlington restaurant

Two Arlington restaurants were closed, and another restaurant failed in the latest round of city health inspections, according to the inspection report.

The report compiled by the Star-Telegram contains data from Dec. 28 through Jan. 10 and 190 inspections.

Arlington’s restaurant inspections function on a 100-point system: A score of 100 is considered to be perfect and a score of 70 is considered to be extremely poor.

Two restaurants were closed by the city for critical violations:

Tienda Y Restaurante La Campina Salvadorena, 1115 E. Pioneer Parkway, had a score of 78. The restaurant was closed because of a roach infestation, poor overall cleanliness and unsafe food storage, a city official said. The restaurant reopened after a follow-up inspection found critical violations had been corrected.

Equinox Restaurant & Bar, 2700 E. Lamar Blvd., had a score of 86. The establishment was closed because of a sewage backup inside the building, poor overall cleanliness, and physical facilities in need of repair, a city official said. A follow-up inspection has been scheduled.

One restaurant failed inspection:

Golden Chopsticks, 1110 N. Collins St., had a score of 70. The restaurant was closed because of improper handling of cold food, unsafe food storage and physical deficiencies in the building, a city official said. The restaurant underwent a follow-up inspection Jan. 9 and most critical issues had been corrected.
