A 20-year-old woman was killed in a single-car crash along Texas 360 in Arlington early Friday, police said.

Officers responded to the southbound lanes of State Highway 360 near the interchange with Interstate 30 about 4:45 a.m. Friday, according to a news release.

Officers found a Chevrolet Malibu had crashed into a metal guardrail separating the main lanes of the highway from the exit lanes, police said.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police statement.

The woman, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified her as Ta’Nilah Dion Cox.

Investigators believe the driver was traveling southbound on 360 when he swerved quickly in an attempt to get over to the I-30 exit, police said. The driver lost control of the car and then crashed into the guardrail.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not ruled out that the driver may have been speeding, according to the statement.
