A man died and two other people were injured in a two-car crash on North Collins Street early Tuesday morning, Arlington police said.

Officers responded to the crash in the 2400 block of North Collins about 6:30 a.m., according to an Arlington Police Department news release.

A Mazda 3 holding two people going northbound swerved into the oncoming lanes of traffic, where a Chevrolet Suburban SUV with two others inside collided with it.

A 23-year-old man from Grand Prairie who was a passenger in the Mazda was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, Arlington police said.

The Mazda driver and a passenger in the SUV are receiving treatment in the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The SUV driver was not taken to the hospital.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man who died.

Arlington police closed the north and southbound lanes of North Collins Street for about three hours to investigate, the release stated.

The investigation is ongoing, with no charges currently filed.
