The newly finished National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington — set to open on March 25, National Medal of Honor Day — will welcome visitors on Saturday for a celebration of freedom and sacrifice, honoring the men who wear and have worn our nation’s highest military decoration.

The museum’s Mission to Inspire Spectacular begins at 7 p.m. outside Choctaw Stadium on the banks of Mark Holtz Lake on Ballpark Way. The event is free and will feature a variety of activities and attractions, including music, a kids’ zone, food and beverages, representatives from five branches of the military service, the Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame trailer and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

Once the sun sets, guests will be treated to a fireworks and drone show accompanied by video tributes to Medal of Honor recipients.

You can register for the event eventbrite.com.

The National Medal of Honor Museum opens to the public at 9:30 a.m. on March 25. Medal recipients will be on hand to greet visitors alongside museum president and CEO Chris Cassidy.
