A 26-year-old man died Wednesday night in a speed-related collision in east Arlington, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of East Abram Street and New York Avenue around 5:15 p.m. regarding an accident between a motorcycle and an SUV. They found the motorcyclist lying unresponsive in the street, according to police.

The 26-year-old, who has been identified as Kyle Matthew Lusk by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, was pronounced dead at Medical City Arlington Hospital.

Investigators determined Lusk was headed east on Abram Street when he crashed into a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee whose driver was trying to turn left onto New York Avenue. The collision caused Lusk to be thrown from his motorcycle, police said. The Jeep hit a 2009 Hyundai Sonata that was waiting at a traffic light.

After analyzing the crash scene and reviewing evidence, investigators believe Lusk was traveling over 90 miles per hour when the crash occurred, officials said.

The driver of the Jeep called 911 and stayed at the scene, according to police. She’s not facing criminal charges connected with the accident. Neither the Jeep’s driver nor the Sonata’s driver were injured.
