Man found dead in Lake Arlington identified as missing 21-year-old, his family says
A missing 21-year-old has been identified as the man whose body was found Jan. 3 in Lake Arlington, his family said.
Marquise Browner was last seen Dec. 18. His mother, Elanor Holiday, told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that she dropped him off for work at a FedEx facility in Fort Worth around 6 p.m. She thought he’d gone inside, but the next day his supervisor told her the 21-year-old hadn’t clocked in for his shift.
Holiday became concerned when she found her son’s FedEx ID still in his room. She called police and reported him missing, according to WFAA. Later Holiday learned that Browner’s bank card was used Dec. 19 at a Whataburger in Fort Worth and a nearby gas station.
Police responded to the 4100 block of Surfside Court on Jan. 3 after a 911 caller reported seeing someone floating in Lake Arlington. There were no obvious signs of trauma on Browner’s body, officials said, and it appeared he’d been in the water for some time.
Holiday said her son had dreamed of being a rapper and would share songs with his FedEx coworkers, WFAA reported.
“He said ‘Mom, they really like my music, and they say I have skills,’” Holiday told WFAA.
Browner’s cause and manner of death are still pending on the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s website.
