Two people died early Sunday, Oct. 13, when a sport utility vehicle left an Arlington street, struck a metal light pole, crashed into a tree and caught on fire, police said.

The 2006 Jeep Commander was eastbound on West Division Street near West Fork Drive when it crashed about 3 a.m., Arlington police said.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, police found the remains of the people inside the SUV.

Because of the severity of their injuries, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified them.
