An unidentified man died in a single-vehicle crash around 8 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 30 in Arlington.

Officers responded to a call about an accident on the I-30 westbound off-ramp near Baird Farm Road. When they arrived, they found a Dodge Charger was engulfed in flames after it collided with a concrete barrier.

First responders extinguished the fire, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene inside the car.

The Arlington Police Department is investigating because authorities have not been able to identify the man.

Though the investigation is ongoing, police suggested that speed may have been a factor in the cause of the crash.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, and will release his name once the John Doe has been identified and his next-of-kin has been notified.

Arlington police urge anyone with information about the fatal accident to come forward.
