A 29-year-old man died early Sunday when the sedan he was driving collided with two other vehicles in Arlington, police said.

Xavier Killingsworth was driving a 2013 Cadillac CTS north on South Cooper Street when it collided with a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class traveling in the same direction, Arlington police said. Killingsworth then lost control of his car, which crossed the median and collided with a 2004 Ford Excursion that was traveling south, police said.

The collision occurred about 2:15 a.m. in the 5400 block of South Cooper Street.

Killingsworth, who lived in Fort Worth, was pronounced dead at a hospital about 45 minutes after the collision. He died of blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police suggested that, based on evidence recovered at the scene and witness statements, alcohol and speed were factors in the collisions.

The driver of the Ford was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was not seriously injured.
