Parent brought handgun to fight on Arlington high school campus, police say
A parent of an Arlington high school student was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegedly bringing a weapon on school property but has since bonded out, police said.
A spokesperson for the Arlington Police Department said the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. near one of the parking lots at Martin High School during a fight between students.
Officials said that Dayne Kacir, a parent of one of the students, learned about the fight and drove to the school. When she got out of her vehicle she was carrying a handgun. She did not fire any shots, police said, and after reviewing the evidence they don’t think she pointed the gun at anyone.
Kacir was detained at the school and arrested on one count of unlawful carrying of a weapon in prohibited places.
