A 43-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle wreck near an intersection in Arlington, authorities said.

The name of the driver who died has not been released by authorities as of Monday.

Investigators believe speed may have been a factor in the crash.

Arlington police responded to a call of a major accident at about 4 p.m. Saturday at NW Green Oaks Boulevard and West Randol Mill Road.

Witnesses told officers the driver of a Suzuki motorcycle, a 43-year-old man, was traveling southbound along NW Green Oaks Boulevard when he hit a curb and was thrown from the bike. The motorcycle landed on top of him.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead, police said.

No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured.
