Cowboys, Rangers fans could see extra traffic after tonight’s games with highway closure
Closures on a highway in Arlington on Friday night could have major impacts on traffic for sports fans leaving the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys games.
State Highway 360 will be closed both northbound and southbound between Avenue K and Six Flags Drive starting at 8 p.m. nightly through Sept. 1, according to a news release from the City of Arlington. The Rangers game is slated to start at 7:05 p.m. Friday and the Cowboys game at 7 p.m.
The closures on the highway — which connects to both Interstates 20 and 30 and is a major thoroughfare for traffic moving north or south in the east part of Arlington — could lead to backups and heavy traffic as game attendees leave the stadiums on Friday night.
The highway will reopen at 5 a.m. daily.
Fans leaving the Cowboys and Rangers games should plan for the closure and consider alternate routes. Arlington has partnered with Waze, a navigation app, to help drivers navigate the closures and recommends people in the area use it to avoid the worst of the traffic delays.
The closures are a part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s ongoing $233 million Interstate 30 and SH 360 Interchange Project in Arlington, according to the news release.
