Live results: Chapa, Wilbanks lead early voting in Arlington school district elections
Incumbents David Wilbanks and Justin Chapa won their Arlington school board races, according to unofficial results early Sunday with all vote centers reporting.
Place 4
David Wilbanks received 50.89% of the vote in Precinct 4. Daphne Jackson, had 30.74% and Anita Scott 18.37%.
Wilbanks said his top three are eliminating administrative burdens on teachers, fighting for property tax reform at the state legislature and focusing on student success and holding staff accountable to get students on track.
Place 5
Justin Chapa had 59.44% of the vote to Kelly R. Burke’s 40.56% in Place 5.
Chapa said he would focus on post-pandemic academic achievement, keeping staff pay competitive to attract the best talent to the district and overseeing the successful implementation of the nearly-$1 billion bond approved by voters in 2019.
