Woman, 29, dies after Interstate 20 crash in Arlington, police say
A driver died Wednesday night after her SUV crossed all the highway lanes on Interstate 20 in Arlington, hit a guardrail then collided with a concrete bridge pillar, police said.
The accident occurred Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. near the 2500 block of I-20, Arlington police said in a news release.
The 29-year-old woman, driving a 2019 GMC Yukon, was traveling eastbound in the far left lane of the interstate when she suddenly veered right, “crossed all of the highway lanes, struck the guardrail, and crashed into a concrete bridge pillar,” according to witness statements to police.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.
“It’s unclear why she suddenly veered out of her lane. The investigation is ongoing,” police said.
The woman has not yet been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
