Where and when to attend Veterans Day commemorative events in Fort Worth, Arlington
The Tarrant County Veterans Council will hold a parade for Veterans Day on Nov. 11 at Panther Island Pavilion, marking the 102nd annual Veterans Day observance in Fort Worth.
The Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade will start at 11 a.m. at Panther Island Pavilion located at 395 Purcey Street in Fort Worth. According to the Visit Fort Worth web page, the parade is free.
Tarrant County Veterans Council posted on its website that the parade will start at the Panther Island Pavilion parking lot, proceed down North Forest Park Boulevard along the Clear Fork section of the Trinity Trails system to Rotary Plaza and return back to the pavilion.
In Arlington, the city’s 14th annual Veterans Day Commemorative Ceremony will be held at Veterans Park on 3600 West Arkansas Lane at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11.
A complementary lunch will be provided to attendees courtesy of the Heroes of South Vietnam Memorial Foundation, according to the city’s website.
The ceremony is organized by the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation and the Arlington Great Southwest Rotary Club. Special focus this year will be to honor members of the United States Armed Forces who are recipients of the Medal of Honor, according to the city’s website.
Earlier this year, Arlington leaders approved a lease agreement between the city and the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation ahead of the museum’s National Medal of Honor Museum’s construction.
