River Legacy Parks in Arlington to get canoe launch under this agreement with Viridian
River Legacy Park may be getting a canoe launch after the Arlington City Council approved plans to swap land with Viridian developers.
Council members voted 7-0-2 Tuesday to trade 10 acres of city-owned land in exchange for 4 acres of land from Viridian Holdings for a future canoe launch. Viridian developers agreed to make improvements and provide facilities for the launch site, according to city staff reports.
The canoe launch is planned for River Legacy Park east of Collins Street and will be accessible to the public. There is no date set for when the area will open.
Mayor Jeff Williams and Victoria Farrar-Myers, District 7 council member, abstained from the vote.
