Reward increases to $7,500 for stolen Arlington therapy bulldog
A reward for a missing therapy dog who was taken during a car theft over the weekend increased to $7,500 on Wednesday as a search continued.
The bulldog, Charlotte, went missing on Sunday from an Arlington parking lot.
“We still have no leads,” said Charlotte’s owner, Taija Horne of Arlington, on Wednesday.
Arlington police also continued their search Wednesday for Charlotte. The therapy dog was inside of Horne’s car when it was stolen on Sunday.
Arlington police have appealed for help to find the dog and Horne’s car in a Facebook post.
The theft occurred about 12:25 p.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Matlock Road in Arlington in the parking lot of a Walgreens.
Horne had parked her SUV and left the engine running because Charlotte, who also answers to the name Charles, was inside of the vehicle. Horne went inside the store.
Seconds later, a thief took the vehicle with the dog inside. Arlington police combed the area, but they failed to find the vehicle or dog.
Arlington police said the vehicle is a white 2017 Subaru Forester with Texas plate LSS-1851. A red 22Kill sticker is on a back window.
22Kill is a local service organization that provides mental health services for veterans and first responders.
Charlotte, who is a therapy dog with the organization, is a 10-year-old blue and white bulldog with a microchip.
