Arlington resident claims $1 million prize after scratching off this lottery ticket

An Arlington resident picked up a $1 million prize after scratching off a lottery ticket.

The winner, who chose to stay anonymous, discovered the win after buying a $1 million Golden Riches ticket at the A-Z Food Mart, 2400 W. Fourth St. in Irving, Texas Lottery officials announced Monday.

Tickets for that game cost $50 each. The odds of winning any prize in the game: 1 in 3.52.

This was the second of four $1 million prizes to be claimed in the game.

The names of some winners aren’t public because of a 2017 state law that lets Texans who claim lottery prizes worth $1 million or more remain anonymous.

The first Texas Lottery tickets were sold in 1992.
