82-year-old Mansfield women dies after two-car crash in Arlington

A Mansfield woman has been identified as the person who died following a two-car crash in Arlington on Monday morning, officials confirmed Tuesday.

Mary Pearce, 82, was pronounced dead at 4:27 p.m. Monday at a local hospital, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of death is pending.

Officers responded to the crash at 10:52 a.m. at the 6000 block of South U.S. 287 at West Sublett Road, according to an Arlington Police Department press release.

The crash involved a Jeep Patriot traveling south on the service road of U.S. 287 and a Toyota Camry traveling westbound on Sublett approaching a red light, the release says. Police believe the driver of the Camry disregarded the red light and struck the Patriot.

Pearce was a passenger in the Camry, according to police.

The crash remains under investigation. No other details were released.
