Man killed, woman seriously injured in Arlington after motorcycle crash, police say

A 57-year old man died and a woman of unknown age suffered critical injuries after they were thrown from the motorcycle they were on during a collision in Arlington late Thursday.

The man was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at a local hospital, an Arlington Police Department news release said. The woman, who was a passenger, was also ejected from the motorcycle and was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police officers arrived at the scene of the crash located in the 1900 block of south Texas 360 near Pioneer Parkway shortly before 10:35 p.m. Thursday, the release said.

An investigation concluded that as traffic was slowing on the roadway because of congestion due to construction ahead, the motorcycle hit the back of a pickup truck in the southbound lane of the freeway, according to the release.

Investigators are still trying to determine what happened, the release said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the man once next of kin have been notified. There were no other motorists injured during the crash.
