Man shoots daughter in Arlington during an argument, police say

A man shot his daughter during an argument in Arlington on Sunday, police said.

At about 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting report in the 600 block of Starlinda Court, said Jesse Minton, an Arlington Police Department public information officer. When police arrived, they found a woman in her 20s shot in the leg.

She was taken to a local hospital.

Prior to the shooting, the victim was in a verbal argument with her father, Charles Hudson, who is also her landlord, Minton said. Later during the argument, Hudson fired a shot through a closed door, striking his daughter, police said.

Hudson was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of aggravated assault.
