Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle as he attempted to cross Arlington street
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Monday on an Arlington street, authorities said.
The name of the victim had not been released as of Tuesday.
The fatal accident was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of E. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington.
A vehicle was traveling eastbound on Pioneer Parkway when a man attempted to cross the street, failing to yield the right of way in a non-crosswalk area, Arlington police said.
The vehicle hit the man, who was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities continued on Tuesday to investigate the fatal crash.
