Natural gas leak forces evacuation of some students, staff members at Arlington school

A natural gas leak under a sidewalk at Boles Junior High in Arlington on Thursday morning forced the evacuation of some students and staff members, a fire official said.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials with ATMOS were on the scene Thursday morning.

Arlington firefighters responded to the scene about 10 a.m. at the school, 3900 SW Green Oaks Blvd. in Arlington.

Firefighters detected natural gas on the west side of the campus, and the gas was turned off in that area, Arlington fire officials said.

By the time Arlington firefighters arrived, school officials had moved students and staff members out of the area.
