Man dies after car crashes into other car in Arlington, hits traffic light, police say

A man died in Arlington on Wednesday morning after his car collided with another car turning in front of him and slammed into a traffic light pole, police said.

The man’s identity will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the other car wasn’t injured, police said.

Police believe the man was driving southbound on South Collins Street in a Nissan Altima when he struck a Chevrolet Lumina trying to turn left onto East Mayfield Road. The collision, police said, caused the Altima to ram into a traffic light pole.

The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The circumstances surrounding the two-vehicle collision are still under investigation.
