A resident of an assisted living home died early Monday after being assaulted last month in the facility, police said.

No one has been arrested as detectives continued to investigate the case.

The victim was identified as Mina Iskander, 31, of Arlington, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website. He died at 3:39 a.m. Monday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.

Iskander’s residence was listed as the Cedar Oaks Home at 1000 Coke Drive, where the assault occurred, according to police and the medical examiner’s office.

The assault call came into police at 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 27.

Iskander had already been taken to a local hospital before officers arrived.

During their investigation, detectives determined that Iskander had been assaulted by another resident of the home, police said.

“It is uncertain at this point if it was intentional or not,” police spokesman Steven Bartolotta said in an email Monday.

Officials at Cedar Oaks Home could not be reached for comment.
