Arlington police officer injured in wreck

A police officer was injured early Wednesday when a vehicle hit his patrol car at an intersection in southeast Arlington, police said.

The officer, who was not identified, suffered injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, police said. He was taken to a local hospital.

The motorist had minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene, police said.

The wreck was reported about 1:30 a.m. at Matlock and Harris roads.

The patrol car was northbound on Matlock when it entered the intersection and collided with the vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
