Arlington officer shoots car theft suspect who struck officers with vehicle
Arlington police shot and wounded a suspect after he backed a stolen car into officers outside a Baymont Inn hotel near Six Flags on Friday morning, police said.
The incident happened about 10 a.m. in the hotel parking lot in the 2400 block of Diplomacy Drive.
Police had received a report of suspicious people in the stolen car, said Lt. Chris Cook, police spokesman.
When officers responded, one person in the car ran inside the hotel. Two people remained in the car but the driver kept his door locked and refused to get out, Cook said.

Officers were able to arrest the female passenger. The driver then tried to flee, Cook said, putting the vehicle in reverse and hitting one officer with the fender.
The open passenger door struck another officer, who fired a shot at the suspect. Both officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Cook said.
The suspect was taken to a hospital. His condition was unknown.
