Four people were wounded late Thursday in an exchange of gunfire.

All were being treated hospitals, but police were not sure how they got there, said Chelsea Kretz, Grand Prairie police spokeswoman.

Police did not identify anyone involved in the shooting but said everyone involved went to the hospital.

Police responded to the shooting, in the 300 block of Dawson Circle, about 8:30 p.m., Kretz said. Witnesses told officers that a vehicle drove up and its occupants began firing and that others on the street returned fire.

The vehicle continued to move until it stopped somewhere on Conover Drive, Kretz said.

The conditions of the wounded are unknown, and investigators were trying to determine the motive for the shootout, Kretz said.

“This is an ongoing investigation,” Kretz said.
