Motorcyclist faces intoxication charge in Arlington death

A Duncanville woman who was a passenger on a motorcycle that crashed Tuesday night died of her injuries Thursday, authorities said.

The driver, Joshua Thompson, 29, of North Richland Hills, was arrested on suspicion of intoxication assault. He was released on bail late Wednesday.

He now faces an intoxication manslaughter charge, a police spokesman said.

His passenger, Brittany Lay, 33, was pronounced dead at 8:40 a.m. Thursday at Medical Center of Arlington, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.

The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on southbound Texas 360 near Interstate 20. Thompson was trying to exit when his 2014 Harley-Davidson hit a curb and crashed, police said.

Thompson had minor injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet.
