Arrest made in killing of Arlington man in January

A 20-year-old man is in custody in the fatal shooting of a man in Arlington in January, according to jail records.

A suspect is in custody in connection with a fatal shooting in January in north Arlington.

Jalon Moss, 20, was arrested Friday in the Navarro County town of Kerens, police posted on Facebook.

Moss had been wanted as a suspect in the killing of Ramad Silas, 29, who died Jan. 19 at John Peter Smith Hospital.

Silas was shot several times in the stomach Jan. 6 at an apartment in the 2500 block of Thomason Circle, near Texas 360, according to a police report.

Moss — who has ties to Kerens, which is about 90 miles southeast of Arlington — was in the Arlington Jail on Monday with his bail set at $500,000. He faces a charge of capital murder.

Moss has a previous conviction on a misdemeanor drug charge, according to Tarrant County court records.
